Kommentar: Elvis, Ginger Alden und sein Gefolge verließen Memphis an Bord der Lisa Marie um 2:20 Uhr an diesem Morgen. Um 4:00 Uhr morgends checkten sie im Arlington Park Hilton Hotel ein.Sie hatten den kompletten 11 Stock mit 38-Zimmern vorbestellt (inbegriffen drei Suiten ). Aids zeigte Elvis an, erschöpft zu werden, und er schlief den ganzen Tag.
Die Karten für diese Show waren schon am 21. September ausverkauft. Dieser Auftritt und die folgenden Tage brachten einen Bruttoverdienst von 426,000 $ für jede Show.
In dieser Show lief für Elvis nicht alles wie gewohnt. Ein Teil des Problems war der Sound im Inneren des Stadions. Während der ersten Hälfte der Show konnte Elvis seine Musiker und Backgroundsänger kaum hören.
Cynthia Dagnal von der Sunday-Times berichtete: "Ein schönes Fräulein in einem dichten Overall näherte sich der Bühne, Blumen in ihrer Hand. Er hockte sich sehr langsam nach unten- Sie konnten das Herz jeder Frau hören, das schlägt, als er näher und näher an ihr kam. Er gab ihr, diesen glatten, erotischen Blick, und mit dieser Stimme die irgendwo unten aus seinem Bauch herkommt, murmelte er 'Honey, Was denkst du jetzt?' Es kam ein Vorschlag. Und dann kam das neckende Lächeln von Elvis, 'Nein, das kann ich nicht tun – es gibt Kinder hier Honey.' Und dann gab er ihr einen Kuss, und das einmütige Herzpochen brach in ein riesiges Ächzen von allen Ecken der Bühne aus. Dieser Kerl muss sich nicht bewegen. Er ist unglaublich cool.
